The staff during the tour was very lovely, and knowledgeable, took plenty of time with us, and answered all our questions. We stayed for lunch one day and it was delicious. There were plenty of activities and my mom especially liked that there was a pool, an exercise facility, theater rooms, and a nice solarium. The apartments were clean, spacious, and updated. A part of it looked like a restaurant, a part of it looked like a home and it was inviting. There was a salon, a library, and a room that doubled as a church and a music/activity room. Andrea gave a nice tour and was very informative. She wasn't pushy, but she answered all our questions.
Caring people; tough field to work in
I didn't mind though, I knew that they each had work to do taking care of the elderly. They seemed to be somewhat understaffed, because they were always running from room to room making sure they had taken care of everyone. The place was very nice, it had several buildings in a manner not unsimilar to a university, and was quite posh. There was a courtyard and the lawn was taken care of very well. Almost everything was wheelchair accessible. The food wasn't so great though, either they got it on the cheap or it was made to fit the diets of all of the elderly living there.

There were shops like a wood shop and paint shop, and we can keep busy with exercises. It was very good and clean, the staff member was very courteous, and very informative. As an employee of Presbyterian Homes & Services, I have the opportunity to visit Waverly Gardens often. It's a beautiful community filled with great people. I only ate there once so it didn't really matter. Naturally nearly all of the attendants seem depressed and/or distant, but that was understandable and there were a few people that were very friendly. All in all I would rate it as a good visit, however brief and strange. The reason why we're leaving is because it is very expensive. Her room is more like a hospital room. She is in long-term care where the doors are open.

Waverly Gardens offers an array of living and care options so you're sure to find the right fit. The staff at Presbyterian Homes really seem to care about the well-being of my elderly relatives. They know them by name and recognize me as a granddaughter, and are able to remain very professional while giving very personalized care to my grandparents. My grandmother has memory loss and can be a bit difficult to deal with at times, but the staff has never-ending patience with her. Presbyterian Homes facilities have above-average quality food for their residents and try to provide every amenity possible to create the "comforts of home". The staff were distant and obviously busy.
She is almost under supervision all the time. The only activity they have is rehabilitation exercises; that's the only one I saw. The people that are there are old people and all they do is sit in their wheelchairs and do nothing all day. The only activity they have is watching TV. Waverly Gardens was a very active and welcoming community.
